Stay and Thrive in your Comfort Zone.

One of the biggest clichés many of us have heard in recent times is the one that encourages us to get out of our comfort zones in order to achieve greatness. While I sincerely believe this cliché is metaphorical, many of us have taken it too literally, as it sounds, and gone out of their places of comfort – A place where they can do great things with what they are naturally gifted. And many have been frustrated by that move.

I have encountered many people who trivialize their gifts and talents because they think these gifts are too ordinary. I have also seen people who think their gifting will not take them far. Hence, they work extra hard to get out of their comfort zones and put on the cloak of someone else that has worked his own gifts to a place of fruition and immense recognition.

To really achieve greatness, you must stay in your comfort zone; you must stay in and exploit your pace of primary assignment. To achieve unflinching success in business, you must go into what naturally comes to you; what you like so much that you can almost do it for free.

No one truly succeeds in an unnatural habitat; in a place where they have to work extra hard to get to where they want to be. While it is a big possibility to become successful at that chosen path, your soul will lack the peaceful fulfillment that is associated with true and lasting success.

This is why I advise every budding entrepreneur to start businesses around their core areas of strength. This enables them to focus and give their best to their customers without stress.

There is no such business description as dangerous as a ‘General contractor.’ A business has to tell us in clear terms what she is doing. And this must be around the confines of her dexterity.

A fish will never leave the river because it wants to get out of its comfort zone and become a monkey on the tree. The moment it makes that move, it is finished. A monkey will never succeed like the bird in the air no matter how much it likes the freedom associated with flying. The birds of the air don’t need extra lessons to fly. It comes naturally. The best they could do is perfect their flying skills to cover increased distances.

You don’t need to get out of your natural habitat to succeed. Your comfort zone is the place of success if fully and truly maximized. This article does not encourage complacency and mediocrity, it means that you have to work extra hard to develop your talent and make it blossom.

Identify your gifts, consistently refine it no matter how small it seems and work it into a profitable business. After doing this, you will see the world bring you to a place of immense recognition and celebration.

If your gift is to become a shoemaker, be so good that even the king will appoint you his personal shoemaker. If your gift is to be a sweeper, be so great that you become the greatest sweeper a nation has ever witnessed. If you are comfortable with being an employee, be so great that you become the best employee around. Don’t jump into being an entrepreneur because you want to join the bandwagon.

It is my belief that we all cannot be entrepreneurs. Choose wisely.

Once again, identify and refine your gifts. What does the bible say about a man’s gifts?
